Wild Things!

My general theme for my K-6 kids this semester is Wild! About Art.  My 2nd graders read Where the Wild Things Are and we made our own wild things.  The kids had so much fun doing this project, and who wouldn't with feathers and google eyes!

Here are some results:

KS Homage

My high school students payed homage to Kansas.  Each student chose the direction they wanted to go with the theme of Kansas.  Students did watercolor, acrylic paint, pencil, and colored pencil.  The pieces made were in a silent auction and the money went to the art department.  Overall I was pleased with the results of the auction and even more proud of my students and the work they put forward.  I got 23 pieces from my 2 hours of HS, and although all of them were great and I could post them all I won't.  I'll try to choose some of my favorites.

Pop Can Drawing

My high school students first assignment back for the semester was to bring in an empty pop can of their choosing.  They had to draw it 5 times, shading 4 with pencil and 1 with colored pencil.  I also had my students change views by crushing/altering them.
